The Jefferson Parish Public School System hosted two special days to help parents and our high school seniors prepare for graduation.
Submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a graduation requirement for all Louisiana high school seniors. Parents and guardians of seniors who had not completed the application were encouraged to attend one of the district’s Parent FAFSA Days. We had computers available and staff members in place to help facilitate the process. There were also interpreters on hand to assist our ESL parents.
The days were also made a success thanks to the support of community organizations and local businesses like Chick-fil-A (Harvey and Kenner), Target (Harvey), Subway (Store #24588), as well as staff members from the Louisiana Department of Education and the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance.
