The Jefferson Parish Public School System will hold a second Advanced Study Academies application window from June 11-22. This two week window is for ASAs that still have openings for the 2018-19 school year. Admission for 2018-19 has been completed for grades pre-k through 3. To see which schools have openings, visit jpschools.org/ASA or call 504-349-7792. This window is only for students who did not apply during our original application period this school year.
Applications will be available on June 8 at the JPPSS Administration Building at 501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey, at the Paul Emenes Building at 822 S. Clearview Pkwy. in Harahan, and on this website. Applications must be completed, include all required documents, and hand delivered to either the JPPSS Administration Building or the Paul Emenes Building.
The office hours at both locations are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications must be submitted by noon on June 22. For more information, call 504-349-7792.
Advanced Study Academies are designed to expose the most highly capable students to a challenging, rigorous, and accelerated curriculum. The academies focus on students who are successful in gaining admission through the ASA admissions process.
Successful candidates are challenged with opportunities in abstract thinking, problem solving, and the use of higher order thinking skills. Our academies employ a school-wide enrichment model and use project-based, hands-on instructional techniques. Students are highly engaged through differentiated instruction and are working at least one grade level ahead of other students in their age group and grade placement.
