JPPSS Awards District’s Top Young i-Ready Achievers

i-Ready is an online reading and math program used by elementary and middle school students in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. JPPSS conducted a Fall i-Ready Contest to recognize our district’s top performers in each grade level.

Here are some pictures of the winners, who got surprise visits by staff who dropped off prize packs for their outstanding work on i-Ready. Look through the captions and click through the gallery below to learn more about each of these award-winning students.

Tyrone Fortenberry, 6th grader at Roosevelt Middle School achieved the highest i-Ready Overall Pass Rate (%) of all 6th graders in the entire district. Tyrone passed every single i-Ready lesson that he completed so far, earning him an Overall Pass Rate of 100%. Both the 1st and 2nd grade i-Ready district winners came from Green Park Elementary School. Phoebe Cosse’ (1st grade) and Codie Broussard (2nd grade) earned the highest Overall Pass Rate percentages on i-Ready among all JPPSS students in their respective grade levels. Both Phoebe and Codie earned a 100% i-Ready Overall Pass Rate, meaning that they passed every single i-Ready lesson completed. Green Park Elementary Principal Sandy Phillips congratulates Phoebe Cosse’ (1st grade) and Codie Broussard (2nd grade) for winning the JPPSS i-Ready Fall Contest. Phoebe’ was the highest performing i-Ready student in the entire 1st grade class in the district and Codie was the highest performing i-Ready student in the entire 2nd grade class in the district. Both students were surprised at school today with special prize packs. Kindergartener Autumn Lewis of Bridgedale Elementary was a district winner in the i-Ready Fall Contest. Autumn scored an  Overall Pass Rate of 100%, the highest of all Kindergarteners in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Bridgedale Principal Benjamin Moscona congratulates Autumn Lewis (Kindergarten) who was the grade level winner for the JPPSS i-Ready Fall Contest. Autumn had the highest i-Ready Overall Pass Rate (%) of all kindergartners in the entire parish. Coranisha Smith was recognized for having the Highest Overall i-Ready Pass Rate (%) in the district for all 8th graders.  Coranisha attends Riverdale Middle School. Coranisha scored the highest i-Ready Overall Pass Rate (%) of all 8th graders in the district. Shawn Robert, a 7th grader at Henry Ford Middle School received a prize pack for achieving the highest Overall Pass Rate (%) on the i-Ready program in his grade level. Shawn’s 100% pass rate means that he passed every single i-Ready lesson that he completed this school year. Shawn had the highest pass rate of all 7th graders in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts is proud of James Arceneaux, III for achieving the highest 5th grade Overall Pass Rate (%) on the i-Ready program for the fall of 2015. Noah was recognized for being the grade level winner in the JPPSS i-Ready Fall Contest. Noah had the highest i-Ready Overall Pass Rate (%) of all 3rd graders in the entire parish. Third grader Noah Guffee of Paul J. Solis Elementary was a district winner in the i-Ready Fall Contest. Noah scored an  Overall Pass Rate of 100%, the highest of all 3rd graders in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Paul J.
