Dr. Brumley took time for serious and silly photos following the Superintendent’s A Breakfast of Champions.

Dr. Cade Brumley wasted no time getting to know the Jefferson Parish Public School System family. The new JPPSS superintendent spent his first day on the job shaking the hands of nearly 200 students, welcoming families to a special district event, taking a learning walk around a JPPSS school, and meeting with principals and district leaders.

March 26 may have marked Dr. Brumley’s first official day on the job, but he actually got started a little early. Dr. Brumley attended the Riverdale High JROTC Ball on Saturday, March 24. Monday morning started bright and early, as he welcomed families to the Superintendent’s A Breakfast of Champions. Dr. Brumley then met with Roosevelt Middle acting principal Erica Ellis for a learning walk around her school. While touring Roosevelt Middle, Dr. Brumley met with students, teachers, and staff members to learn about the unique challenges and successes at their school.

Dr. Brumley’s afternoon started by meeting with all the JPPSS principals. He used this opportunity to become “vulnerable” with his administrators, giving them a chance to better understand his background, his views on education, and his goals for our students.

Dr. Brumley will soon unveil his 100-day entry plan for JPPSS. Look for more information in the coming days on this website.
