The Jefferson Parish Public School System has canceled all after-school activities scheduled for today, January 16, 2018. This includes after-school care, tutoring, athletic events, practices and any other extra-curricular activities. All schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
The decision to close came after careful consultation with the district’s Emergency Management department based on the forecast from the National Weather Service which expects precipitation and freezing temperatures to impact our area beginning as early as 4:00 p.m. today.
The Jefferson Parish School Board regular meeting will be held as scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Administration Building – 501 Manhattan Boulevard in Harvey.
