New Orleans Saints running back C.J. Spiller made a special delivery recently to J.C. Ellis Elementary and the Jefferson Parish Public School System (JPPSS).
Spiller visited Ellis Elementary as a part of the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association’s (SUDIA) Fuel Up to Play 60 campaign. The school was chosen to host this year’s Fuel Up to Play 60 event and celebrate the announcement of the $10,000 Hometown Grant for JPPSS. Fuel Up to Play 60 and the NFL are providing one $10,000 grant per NFL team market. The money is used to support healthy eating and physical activity.
The NFL Play 60 campaign is designed to tackle childhood obesity by getting kids active through in school, after school, and team-based programs. SUDIA and the Saints are working together to make wellness part of the game plan in Louisiana schools.
Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by the National Dairy Council, the Southeast Dairy Association, and the NFL.
